Robert W. Rhoads

Robert W. Rhoads, Sr., 92, died January 5, 2011 in his West Reading residence.

He was the widower of Ellenora (Kroenig) Rhoads.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Irvin A. and Annie V. (Hart) Rhoads.

Robert was a 1936 graduate of Wilson High School.

He was a credit manager for 24 years for Automotive Service, Sinking Spring, retiring in 1973.

Robert was a member of Wyomissing U.C.C., Gouglersville.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII.

He is survived by his five children: Robert W. Rhoads, Jr., West Reading; John A., husband of Donna Rhoads, Salida, CO; Mark I., husband of Robin Rhoads, Fleetwood; Rosalie A., wife of Newton Bruington, Las Vegas, NV and Mary R., wife of Dennis Sicher, Norristown. Also surviving is his brother, Heber W. Rhoads, Sinking Spring and his sister, Shirley M. Richuitti, Reading. Five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren survive him.

Robert was predeceased by six siblings.

A Memorial Service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Hain's Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wyomissing U.C.C., 2 Vermont Road, Sinking Spring, PA 19608.
