Robert L. Reed

Robert L. Reed, 68, of Reading, PA, lost his battle with early-onset Alzheimer's disease on May 12, 2023 at Complete Care at Berkshire, Exeter Township. Born on June 4, 1954, he was a son of the late Violet (Mack) Reed.

Robert was a 1972 graduate of Reading High School and a 1977 graduate of Penn State University where he received his bachelor's degree in architectural engineering. He worked as a mechanical engineer until he retired at the age of 63.

Robert was a loving father who enjoyed reading books about the Civil War and WWII, all things trivia including watching Jeopardy every night, and traveling, especially to Walt Disney World. He was a devoted Penn State football and Philadelphia Phillies fan. A lifetime resident of Berks County, he was also a member of the Berks History Center and Reading Public Museum.

Robert is survived by a daughter, Jamie (Christopher) Long; sisters Dorothy Steffy, Nancy Steffy, Doris Reed, Lyn Reed, Sherry Carrozza.

In addition to his mother, Robert was preceded in death by his brothers LeRoy Reed, Charlie Reed, Harold Reed; sisters Mary Harp, Louise Baver.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Kuhn Funeral Home, Temple, 5153 Kutztown Rd, Temple, PA 19560 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A private graveside service will follow with Robert's son-in-law Pastor Chris Long officiating.
