Robert R. Adams, 73, passed away, Sunday August 28, 2016 in his Muhlenberg Twp. residence.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy J. (Wagner) Adams, whom he married November 28, 1964.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William and Edna (Pedersen) Adams.

Robert was a graduate of Abington High School.

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps., serving from 1961 through 1964.

After serving our country, Robert then served as a Police Officer in Abington Township from 1966 through 1983. During his service, Robert founded the Abington Police Athletic League, (PAL).

Robert was the type of person who could make friends with anyone. He was always wanting to help and meet new people. Robert had a great sense of humor and was a real joker. Above all, his grandchildren were the light of his life.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by a daughter: Cynthia A., wife of Paul Morgan, Shillington; and two grandchildren: Samantha E. Kauffman, Boyertown, and Marine Cpl. William T. Morgan, Cherry Point, NC.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 2 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
