Robert Paul "Butch" Brown, Jr. 76, of Upper Tulpehocken, passed away August 28, 2013 in ManorCare Health Services, Inc., Spring Township.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Robert Paul, Sr. and Idella Edith (Fox) Brown.
He was a 1954 graduate of Muhlenberg High School, and attended Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute.
Robert worked as a foreman for the Bell Telephone Co., for 22 years. He also owned Brads Coney Island Hot Dog Stand, Reading at Madison and Court and loved spending time there.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a mason with Perkiomen Lodge No. 595, where he was past Master.
Robert enjoyed Penn State football, working on cars, and watching open wheel racing. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and friend and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his son, Bradley P. Brown, fiancé of Lisa Lamp of Temple; two grandsons: Andrew P. and Dustin M. of Leesport and a sister, Janet, wife of Lonnie Miller of Laureldale.
Robert is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Monday at 10:00 am at Bern Cemetery, Bern Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: American Heart Association, P.O. Box 15120 Chicago, IL 60693 and/or Animal Rescue League, P.O. Box 69, Mohnton, PA 19540. Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., Laureldale, is in charge of arrangements.
