Robert A. Nave, 80, of Wyomissing, passed away April 18, 2014 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
He was the husband of Rose Agnes (Spina) Nave, whom he married 55 years ago.
Born October 25, 1933 in Reading, he was a son of the late James and Catherine (DiCarlo) Nave.
He was a 1951 graduate of Reading High School.
Robert was a water inspector for Western Electric (Lucent) for over 30 years, retiring in 1992. He also worked part time for Victor Emmanuel II Beneficial Society for 18 years.
He was a member of Holy Rosary R.C. Church, Reading.
Robert was also a lifetime member of Victor Emmanuel II Beneficial Society, the Ivy Leaf Association, and Neversink Fire Company. He was an avid golfer and bowler. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the Korean War.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his two sons: Michael J., husband of Elizabeth Nave, Birdsboro; and Gino C., husband of Caroline Nave, San Francisco, CA. Also surviving are his brother, Livio "Lee", husband of Nancy M. Nave, Exeter Township; and his twin granddaughters: Rosemary E. and Jennifer L. Nave.
Robert was predeceased by his brother, James Nave, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary R.C. Church, 237 Franklin Street, Reading. A viewing will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be private in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 906 Penn Ave., Wyomissing, PA 19610. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
