Robert A. Mutzel

Robert A. Mutzel, 60, of Cumru Township, died Friday at 6:45 a.m. in his residence.

He was the partner of Patricia S. Gery.

Born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Robert L. and Esther (Miller) Mutzel.

Mutzel obtained a bachelor's degree from Elizabethtown College, a Master's degree and an A.B.D., both from Bryn Mawr College.

He was a Professor of Sociology teaching at Reading Area Community College since 1990. He was also the coordinator of the Reading Even Start Program.

He was a member of Reform Congregation Oheb Sholom, Wyomissing.

Surviving is one son, Joshua A. Mutzel, Reading, PA, and two daughters, Heather Toth, State College, PA, and Sarah A. Mutzel, Reading, PA.

Born a triplet, Robert is survived by his brother Raymond Mutzel, Lancaster, and predeceased by his other brother Richard L. Mutzel.

He is also survived by his partner Patricia's son, Justin E. Rothenberger, Cumru township.

Services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Reform Congregation Oheb Sholom, Wyomissing. Rabbi Brian Michelson will be officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Shillington, PA. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. will be in charge of the services.
