Robert Wayne Murray, known as Wayne, 86, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Highlands of Wyomissing. He was the husband of Margaret (Hayes) Murray.

Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Robert B. and Mary E. (Miller) Murray. Wayne graduated with a BS from Bloomsburg and an MS from Villanova. He was employed as a math and science teacher for secondary school students at Pemberton High School, NJ, from '59-60, Lenape Regional High School of Medford Lakes, NJ '60-'64, and Exeter High School from '64-'93 teaching Physics, Chemistry, and Nuclear Science.

Wayne was a member of Pennside Presbyterian Church. He coached basketball, baseball, and bowling throughout his years of teaching. He served as the Head baseball coach at both Lenape and Exeter High Schools. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason of Isaac Hiester #660, West Reading and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution Gov. Joseph Hiester Chapter. Wayne also volunteered for Meals on Wheels at the Reading Hospital.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Margaret, children William D. Wolf (Betty J.) of Winthrop, NY and Steven R. Murray-Wolf (Katheryn) of Firestone, CO, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by one son, Thomas J. Wolf.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Highlands of Wyomissing with interment at Mountain View Cemetery, Emmitsburg, MD in summer.

Wayne became deeply involved in his Scottish heritage, ultimately serving multiple roles in the Murray Clan Society of North America including Society President.
