Robert Stuart Moore, Jr. passed away peacefully on June 21, 2012.
Born in West Reading on January 2, 1927, he was the son of the late Robert S. Moore, Sr. and Helen (Rhoad) Moore. Bob graduated from West Reading High School and then enlisted into the Navy during World War II. Following the war, he attended Franklin and Marshall College, graduating in 1950.
Bob went to work for Wilson Products based in Reading before joining Wertz, Hoffman and Parks Realtors in the 1960s. Following a successful sales career, he started his own real estate company with three partners called Moore, McLain, Nally and Schumaker. Bob had a real passion for real estate and continued this work starting new companies in New Jersey and Berks County until he retired in 2000.
He was an avid tennis player, dog-lover, friend, and loving husband and father.
He is survived by his beloved wife Doris, step sons Peter and Andrew Orth, son David Orth-Moore, daughter-in-law Samuela, and grandchildren Cassidy, Shea, Jordan David, and Tessa Grace. Also surviving are his sister, Betty Jane, widow of Carl Meinig, Wyomissing; his nieces: Christina M. Meinig, Tiburon, CA and Karen L. Sylver, Cape Cod, MA and his nephew, Peter Meinig, Tulsa, OK. He will also be missed by his loving dog, Molly.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to Animal Rescue League of Berks County, P.O. Box 69, Mohnton, PA 19540. Edward J.
