Robert Milton Sands

Robert Milton Sands, III., passed away June 1, 2022, in his Wyomissing residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was the husband of Irene G. (Houck) Sands. They married on November 7, 1983.

Born in Bernville, he was a son of the late Robert Milton Sands, II and June Virginia (Kessler) Sands.

He was employed by Hofmann Industries Inc., as a steel worker.

Robert was a United States Army veteran.

He enjoyed playing pool, gulf, camping, fishing, and boating. Robert also was known as the "handyman" who helped anyone in need.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Mary Helen Sands, Sinking Springs; four stepchildren: Rodney Allen Dierolf, Straustown, Randal Carl Dierolf, Wyomissing, Cindy Ann, wife of Thomas Hassler, Jr., Fleetwood and Stacey Lynn Dierolf, Reading. One sister, Suzanne Bohn; five grandchildren: Kyle Robert Sands, Bobby Carl Sands, Meanna Diamond Fontanez, Brittney Steinmetz and Destiny Dierolf and four great-grandchildren: Evan Eisenhardt, Kayden Eisenhardt, Anthony Dierolf and Andrew Dierolf. He is also survived by four step-grandchildren: Micheal Dierolf, Starrlyn Rose Lott, Jacob Swavely and Cristin Flicker; and seven step great-grandchildren: Alexander Dierolf, Riley Dierolf, Dynisty Flicker, Alyssa Keller, Aaron Keller, Jacob Swavely, Jr., and Henry Flicker.

He was predeceased by his brother, Barry Sands and his adored beloved dog, Sandy.
