Robert J. Mills

Robert J. "Bob" Mills, Jr., 86, of Wyomissing, passed away December 30, 2011 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was the loving husband of Anne (Wenger) Mills, having celebrated 61 years of marriage in August.

Born August 14, 1925 in Foxboro, MA, he was the son of the late Robert J. Mills, Sr. and Mary (Sweeney) Mills.

He graduated from Shillington High School in 1944 and Villanova University in 1948. After 38 years of service, he retired from CNA Insurance in 1989.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert J., married to Emily (Huntley) Mills, of Womelsdorf; and a daughter, Marsha (Mills) Dinatally, married to Frank Dinatally, Orwigsburg, Schuylkill County.

There are also three grandchildren: Taylor Mills, Hilary (Mills) Hayes and Jason Dinatally; three great-grandchildren: Kalianne Mills, Kaysie Mills and Malena (Laney) Jo Dinatally; and a sister, Patricia (Mills) Everhart, married to Dan Everhart, of Columbia, SC.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, West Reading, and also was a member of the Shillington Athletic Club, West Reading, the Wyomissing Lions Club and was a member of a fraternity at Villanova University Delta Pi Epsilon.

Bob has chosen to donate his body to the Humanity Gifts Registry, so that others may be helped through scientific research. A formal burial in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township, will take place after his cremated remains are returned.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Eighth and Franklin Streets, West Reading.
