Robert L. Mcwilliams

Robert Lee McWilliams, Sr., 72, of Temple, died May 2, 2008 in Centre County, where he was spending time at the family camp.

He was the husband of Cassandra L. (Spiese) McWilliams, whom he married January 31, 1959.

Born in York County, PA, on June 16, 1935, he was a son of the late Palmer Dewey Hess McWilliams and Mildred R. (Lentz) McWilliams.

He was 1953 graduate of Susquehannock High School in York County.

Robert was employed since 1963 as a plant supervisor with Georgio Foods, Temple, last working in December.

He was a member of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Muhlenberg Township.

Robert was a Board of Director of Shawnee On the Delaware and a member of the Dry Run Rod and Gun Club, Centre County.

He was also a member of the Board of Muhlenberg Township Parks & Recreation and the chairman of the Golf Tournament.

Robert was also involved for many years in the Muhlenberg Township Athletic Association & also the City-County Junior League.

He enjoyed golfing, gardening, and spending time with his friends & family.

Robert is also survived by two sons; Robert L. Jr., husband of Lori-lynn (Manwiller) McWilliams of Muhlenberg Township and Timothy S. husband of Jennifer P. (Graul) McWilliams of Laureldale Borough.

There are also seven siblings: Burnell McWilliams, Arlene Roser, Palmer McWilliams Jr., Grace Howard, Dennis McWilliams, Charmaine Barrick and Ronald McWilliams.

Other survivors include three grandsons; Ryan L. McWilliams, Michael T. McWilliams and Cole T. McWilliams.

He was predeceased by two siblings; Odessa McWilliams and Carlton McWilliams.

Services will be Thursday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with Rev. Dr. Robert A. Stewart officiating. Viewings will be held Wednesday 6:00 - 8:00 pm and Thursday 9:30 am until time of services in the funeral home. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
