Robert G. Mcdevitt

Robert G. McDevitt, 87, died January 12th at 3:20 pm in his residence at 404 South Brobst Street, Shillington, Pa 19607.

He was the husband of Margaret M. (Rehr) McDevitt.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Nathaniel J. and Anna C.(Haas) McDevitt.

He was a 1935 graduate of St. Peter's High School, Reading.

McDevitt was a member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

He worked for 32 years at Dana Corp., Reading, retiring as a supervisor in 1978.

McDevitt was a Army Veteran of WWII.

He is also survived by two sons, Robert H. McDevitt of San Diego California and Timothy N. McDevitt of Louisville, KY.

Other survivors include three daughters, Patricia A. (McDevitt) Holland of Muhlenberg Township, Mary M. (McDevitt) Huck of Exeter Township and Louise M. (McDevitt) of North Hills, Bucks County.

McDevitt is also survived by a sister, Helen (McDevitt) Mitchell of Willow Street, Lancaster County and four brothers, Gerald of Temple, Leon of Reading, David of Wyomissing and Vincent of Temple.

There are 15 grandchildren and two great granddaughters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday celebrated at 10:00 am in St. Paul's R.C. Church, 151 North 9th Street, Reading, Pa 19601. Viewing Sunday Evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the church at the above address. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
