Robert J. Malarkey

Robert J. Malarkey, 79, passed away on July 27, 2015 in his Whitfield residence.

He was the beloved husband of Marilyn (Reed) Malarkey.

Born in Scranton, PA he was the son of the late Robert A. and Mary P. Malarkey.

Robert was a graduate of Holy Rosary High School, Scranton, and attended the University of Maryland.

He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a Pennsylvania State Trooper.

Robert was employed by Boscov's Department Store as a Vice President and Director of Loss Prevention for 30 years before retiring in 2003.

He was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church.

Robert was an avid golfer and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his six children, Eileen, wife of Joseph Levan, Sinking Spring; Kathleen, wife of Nathan Haueisen, Sinking Spring; Maureen, wife of Anthony Lucchese, Sinking Spring; Patrick, husband of Regina Malarkey, Exeter Township; Marilyn, wife of Robert Brennan, Sinking Spring; and Ann, wife of Eric Endres, Sinking Spring. He is also survived by his 16 grandchildren, Sarah, Julia and Leah Levan, Matthew and Christopher Haueisen, Sean Lucchese, Evan and Maura Malarkey, Julia, Jacob and Jeremy Weaver, John, Kelly and James Brennan, and Erin and Daniel Endres.

Robert is predeceased by his brother John Malarkey and grandson, Robert Brennan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 10:30 am in St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, 2810 St. Alban's Dr., Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 5 to 8 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
