Robert M. Ziolkowski

Robert M. Ziolkowski, 73, of Reading, died May 19, 2015, in Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Mary Ann (Palcak) Ziolkowski, to whom he married on January 25, 1964.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Marion and Helen (Sadowski) Ziolkowski.

He was a graduate of Reading High School in 1959, and was a lifelong member of St. Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church, Reading, PA.

He was employed for 37 years by Carpenter Technology Corporation retiring in 2002.

Robert loved to fish, hunt and bowl, and enjoyed going to his beach retreat at Tuckahoe Acres Resort, Dagsboro, DE. He was a member of the Dutchmen's Hunting Club, Sokol's and Victor Emmanuel II Society. Robert was a diehard Phillies and Eagles fan.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Christine A., wife of Bryan S. Hecker, Shillington; and Michael R., husband of Jennifer A. Ziolkowski, Tampa, FL. There are two siblings, Leon F., husband of Margaret F. Ziolkowski, Telford, PA and Frances Jean, widow of Frank Lesagonicz, Reading; and one step-sister Cindy, wife of Paul Tryger, Shillington. Six grandchildren, Collin Hecker, Lindsey Hecker, Braden Hecker, Dylan Ziolkowski, Amelia Ziolkowski and Morgan Ziolkowski; daughter-in-law Tammy Ziolkowski, Shillington; sister-in-law Theresa (Palcak), widow of Edwin Barnett; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive him. He was predeceased by a son Steven Ziolkowski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Cyril and Methodius RCC, 449 S. 6th Street, Reading, PA 19602, with burial to follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the church.
