Robert Michael Lightcap, 68, passed away on June 20, 2025 in Bechtelsville. Bob was born in Phoenixville, PA on April 2, 1957 to Jo Ellen (Kilgore) Lightcap and Robert Brooks Lightcap Jr. He grew up with his older sister, Deborah (Lightcap) Eddinger forever looking out for her while being just annoying enough. He grew up going to Atlantic City every summer with his grandparents and riding his mini bike around the neighborhood. As a kid, he had a slot car track in his cellar and went to Pottstown often to race them. He attended Owen J. Roberts School District and went on to open a woodworking shop in Saint Peter's Village, as well as later specializing in the installation of kitchen and bathroom cabinetry. His analytical mind made him a "measure twice and cut once" kind of person and he could always be counted on to fix broken things around the house.
Bob is survived by his son Connor (husband of Tia), Debbie (wife of Jerry), and a smattering of close friends. He is preceded in death by his mom, dad, and a different smattering of close friends. Bob often said that the thing he was most proud of doing in his life was creating Connor. Bob gifted his son with a lot of his (mostly best) qualities: his sense of humor, his giggle, his love of animals, his hazel eyes, and his receding hairline. He never failed to let him know how loved he was.
Despite what some may think, Bob's death is not a ploy to avoid paying his bills or talking to old girlfriends. While life was not always kind to Bob, he responded appropriately: by always having something to complain about. Even if you only met Bob once, he wasn't a person you could soon forget. His quick wit and dark sense of humor could make even the most stoic crack a smile. The world feels like a much sadder and less funny place without Bob. He'll be mostly missed and don't forget to have a "silly half hour" a day to honor him.
