Robert Richard Laibe

Robert "Bob" Laibe, of Exeter Township, died of natural causes on February 18, 2014.

Born January 24, 1936 in Easton, he was a son of the late William and Marion (Coppock) Laibe.

He was a graduate of Easton Area High School and Penn State University and served honorably in the U.S. Air Force.

Bob was employed with GPU/Met Ed for his entire 33 year career, retiring in 1994. He was also an active member of Calvary United Church of Christ, Reading.

Bob enjoyed basketball as a young man and later enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing cards with friends and family. He was a big Penn State fan.

He is remembered as a man with a very generous spirit and big heart who loved spending time with his family.

Surviving are his brother William of Vestal, NY, his long-time companion Pat Huyett, of Reading, his son and daughter-in-law Greg and Ellen of West Chester, PA and his daughter Michele of Bensalem, PA.

Also surviving are three adored grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Calvary U.C.C., 640 Centre Avenue, Reading. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:30 a.m. and a fellowship hour will follow the service. Burial will be private in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
