Robert L. Weyandt

Robert Leon Weyandt, 84, of Bern Township died January 28, 2012 in Berks Heim, Bern Township.

He was the husband of Geraldine M. (Reed) Weyandt, whom he married February 19, 1955.

Born August 24, 1927 in Reading, he was a son of the late Stanley Howard and Katie Diana (Bagenstose) Weyandt. Robert was a 1946 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

He was employed as a technician with Western Electric for 30 years, retiring in 1987.

Robert served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a member of Rosedale United Church of Christ, Laureldale.

Robert loved trains and enjoyed woodworking.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Warren W. Weyandt of Exeter Township; Mark R., husband of Jodie L. (Bricker) Weyandt of Lower Alsace Township; Eric S., husband of Carol E. (Moll) Weyandt of Bern Township and Alene K. (Weyandt), wife of Gary L. Fetter of Bern Township.

Other survivors include 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a sister, Judy Host of Elizabethtown and a host of nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by a brother, Paul D. Weyandt and a sister, Marjory Johnson.

Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Viewings will be held Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:00 and Thursday from 9:30 until the time of service. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
