Robert L. Sterner, 86, of Blandon, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Phoebe Berks Health Care Center, Wernersville.

He was the loving husband of Kathryn S. (Miller) Sterner and they shared 57 years of marriage.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Leroy E. Sterner and Frances M. (Fucci) Sterner.

Bob was a 1954 graduate of Reading High School and Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in 1956 which closed and all alumni of WPI were recognized as a graduate of Penn State with an Associate Degree in Engineering.

Over the years, Bob was employed at Textile Machine Works, General Battery, Precision Rebuilding and last employed at Aluminum Alloys until his retirement.

Bob's main interest was building street rods and restoring his 1967 Chevy Nova and his 1965 Chevy Corvette. He enjoyed going to car shows, cruises, stock car races at the Reading Fairgrounds, and watching Nascar racing on the weekends. He was always glad to see Chase Elliott win.

In addition to his wife, he was the proud father of his two children, Debra A., Tempe, AZ, and Michael S., Chandler, AZ; his sister, Sandra, Bufano, Reading; and two nieces, Kim Bufano, Reading and Kelly Bufano (Wil), Reading. He is also survived by his great niece, Allison Ludwig (Jefry); his great nephew, Austen (Rachel); his great-great nephew, Ryan; and his brother-in-law, William R. Miller, Jr., Sinking Spring.

He was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth L. Sterner in 2022.

At Bob's request services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research Grand Central Station, P.O.
