Robert L. "Maz" Masley

Robert L. "Maz" Masley, 88, died May 28, 2015, in his Wyomissing residence.

He was married to Jacquelyn R. (Marks) Masley for 65 years.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Leon Schein and Anna V. Masley.

He was a 1944 graduate of Reading High School.

Maz was a U.S. Navy veteran serving from 1944-1946, stationed in Cuba.

He was a member of St. Cyril and Methodius Church.

Maz was retired from North American Rockwell after 40 years of employment.

He founded the Travelers Club of the South Ends where members traveled cross country to visit different baseball stadiums

Bob was also the Vice President of the Reading Phillies Booster Club and a member of the Reading Hot Stovers'.

Maz had a passion for the Phillies whether they were winning or losing. He cherished his friendship with Harry Kalas until his death in 2009.

He loved animals be it his own or any stray that crossed his path.

Maz touched the lives of many people in all walks of life and will be dearly missed.

Bob was" half man and half amazing" as he battled Parkinsons Disease that robbed him of his ability to live a normal life but never stopped him from doing for others.

The Masley family wishes to acknowledge Caring Hearts, especially Sheri and Daniel who gave care, love and commitment that cannot be imagined. The family also wished to thank Bayada Nurses who brought a smile to Bob's face with each visit.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Richard J. Masley, NY, NY, Robert M. Masley, Reading and Michele Masley, Wyomissing. Also surviving are a brother in law, John Marks and a sister in law Mary Alice Marks.
