Robert J. Kleinert

Robert J. Kleinert, 73, of Blandon, died September 1 in Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Sharon A. (Strausser) Kleinert, with whom he celebrated his 30th wedding anniversary on June 12. His first wife Shirley M. (Poznak) Kleinert died in 1971.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Clarence E. and Lillian (Ganster) Kleinert.

He had been employed by the former Wertz Engineering Co. for 35 years as a union plumber and mechanical estimator. Later, he worked as a mechanical estimator for the former Diversified Mechanical, Inc. for 10 years until his retirement in 1996.

Robert was a graduate of Hershey Industrial School, now Milton Hershey School in 1951.

He was a member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

Other survivors include one son, Kevin R., Lansdale and two daughters, Karen M. (Kleinert) Boyd, Woodville, TX and Marcia L. (Kleinert) Branstetter, McKinney, TX. There are also 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one daughter Cheryl A. (Kleinert) Apsokardu in 2000.
