Robert Byron Killian, Sr.

Robert Byron Killian, Sr., 88, of Maidencreek Township, died August 25, 2013 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the husband of Mary Ann (Correll) Killian who died September 30, 2008.

Born March 14, 1925 in Gibraltar, he was a son of the late Robert E. and Dorothy (Goodhart) Killian.

Robert was employed as a caster with Reading Tube, Ontelaunee Township for 29 years, retiring in 1987.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Robert was a life member of Laureldale Athletic Association and 14th Ward Republican Club; he was also a member of Sinking Spring VFW.

He enjoyed fishing, golfing and bowling and loved watching the Phillies games, which he did with his family. He also enjoyed taking trips to the casinos with his family.

Robert will be missed by his three dogs, Bailey, Tucker and Dunkin.

Surviving are his four children: Linda A. Martin of Birdsboro; Carol L., wife of Allen V. Hanson, with whom he resided; Robert B., Jr., husband of MaryAnn A. (Melnick) Killian of Reading and James E. Killian of Overton, NV.

In addition there are six grandchildren, Terrie Lynn Christman of Maidencreek Township; Michael W. Christman of Reading; Joseph Martin, III. of Phoenixville; Samantha Billman of Minersville, Schuylkill County; Corinne Killian of Reading and Kelsie K. Knabb of Birdsboro.

There are also three great grandchildren: Justin M. McKale of Maidencreek Township; Christopher M. Warren of Reading and Morgan Billman of Minersville; Schuylkill County.
