Robert Owen Jepsen

Robert Owen Jepsen, 85, passed away June 24, 2016 in Chestnut Knoll Assisted Living Center of Boyertown.

Born in, Wyomissing, he was a son of the late Robert Owe and Elsie (Smith) Jepsen.

He was the husband of Janet R. Jepsen.

Robert was a 1948 graduate of Wyomissing High School and received his bachelor's degree in economics from Bucknell University in 1953.

He was a Lieutenant in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

Robert was a Real Estate Broker serving the Berks County area. He was the past president of the Greater Reading Board of Realtors.

While at Bucknell he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He was an engineering officer on the destroyer USS Smalley. Robert was a member of the Masons Lodge #62. From 1988-1996 he served as mayor of Wyomissing. He was a Camp Bil-o-Wood Voyageur. Playing the piano and singing in the choir were some of Robert's greatest joys.

Robert is survived by his children: Jesse Jepsen, Wyomissing; Carol Jepsen Walker, wife of James, Franconia, NH; Christina Jepsen Maier, wife of David, Sandy, OR; Andrew Jepsen, husband of Julie, Oconomowoc, WI; John Jepsen, husband of Marcia, Wyomissing, and Joanna Jepsen, Reno, NV; eleven grandchildren: Ashley, Tyler, Peter, Caroline, Hannah, Jessie, Spencer, Auguste, Kaiulani, Lilinoe and Max; and four great grandchildren: Elsie, Ellery, Emery and Koa.

He was predeceased by his sister, Ellen Lukens, and his brother, James Jepsen.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. A visitation will be held one hour prior in the funeral home.
