Robert J. Hoover

Robert J. "Bob" Hoover, 85, formerly of Wyomissing, passed away June 6, 2012, in Berkshire Commons.

He was a loving and caring husband to M. Florine (Ashcroft) Hoover. They were married 61 years.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Joseph S. and Helen E. (Stoeber) Hoover.

He was a graduate of Oley High School.

Bob was a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII, and a proud member of the Army Band.

He was also a member of the Oley Legion.

He was an award winning agent for Prudential Insurance Company, retiring in 1988.

Bob was a member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church; where he served as an usher and Eucharistic Minister.

His most cherished moments were spending time with his family. He enjoyed attending his children's and grandchildren's activities.

Bob is survived by four children, Scott A. Hoover, Reading, Mark R., husband of Patty Hoover, Wyomissing, Terry A. Stibrany, Boulder CO, and Karen M., wife of James M. Scott, Birdsboro; his brother, Joseph S., Jr., husband of Grace Hoover, Spring City; two sisters, Helen M. Hoover, Oley and Betty J., wife of James Stephenson, New Castle; eight grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren also survive him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Ignatius R.C. Church, 2810 St. Albans Dr., Whitfield, PA 19608. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
