Robert J. Henninger

Robert John Henninger, 54, of Muhlenberg Township, died while surrounded by his loving family September 17, 2012 in the Reading Hospital after a battle with lung cancer.

He was the husband of Regina Ann (Vicari) Henninger whom he married September 8, 1984.

Born October 3, 1957 in Allentown, he was a son of the late Donald M. and Betty J. (Sechler) Henninger.

Robert was a 1976 graduate of Kutztown High School.

A self-employed carpenter by trade, he was also employed with Merlin Miller Contracting a number of years and Fortney & Weygandt, OH for twelve years.

Robert was a member of Holy Guardian Angel's Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.

He enjoyed vacationing in Ocean City, MD, Rehoboth Beach, DE, and Fenwick Island, DE where he would go multiple times a year.

Above all else, his passions were his family and friends and he loved life.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children: Nicole Danielle Henninger a student athlete at Kutztown University and John Robert Henninger a student athlete at Muhlenberg High School.

Other survivors include two sisters: Donna L. (Henninger), wife of William Kisko Jr. of Fenwick Island, DE and Deborah A. (Henninger), wife of Neil A. Sassaman of Blandon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in Holy Guardian Angel's R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Hyde Park. A viewing will be held from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, PA 19605. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
