Robert H. Hafer

Robert Howard Hafer, Sr., 82, died July 25, 2012 in his Lincoln Park residence.

He was the husband of Palma F. (Volpiccini) Hafer, whom he married November 3, 1956.

Born in Boyertown, PA on May 6, 1930, he was a son of the late Howard A. and Anna G. (Reidenauer) Hafer.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist de La Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.

Robert served in the United States Army from 1947 until 1956 and was a veteran of the Korean War.

He was employed 30 years with Rockwell International, Wyomissing, retiring in 1990 as a superintendent.

Robert was a member of the American Legion Post #945.

He is also survived by two children: Anne L. (Hafer), wife of Jeffrey C. Case of Spring Township and Robert H. Hafer, Jr., of Lower Heidelberg Township.

Other survivors include four siblings: Jackson, husband of Carol (Slater) Hafer of Exeter Township; Nancy (Hafer), widow of Charles A. Miller of Reading; Betty Lou (Hafer) Herb of Reading and Beatrice (Hafer), widow of Blair Kingree of Boyertown.

There are also five grandchildren: Ryan J. Case, Jessica H. Case, Robert H. Hafer, III, Michael W. Hafer and Rachel M. Hafer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:00 am in Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, 905 Chestnut St., (Union Township), Douglassville, PA 19518. A viewing will be held one hour prior to Mass in the Church. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
