Robert Paul Focht, 50, of Muhlenberg Township passed away March 31, 2012 while running a 10 mile race in Kutztown.
He was the husband of Kathryn Louise (Pascuzzi) Focht, whom he married May 17, 1986.
Born December 16, 1961 in Reading, he was a son of Rodney A. and Mary Ann (Borst) Focht of Cumru Township.
Bob was a 1979 graduate of Central Catholic High School. He earned a B.A. in Accounting from Alvernia College in 1985 and a B.A. in Management and Administration from Alvernia College in 1986. He earned his MBA in Finance from St. Joseph University in 1996.
Bob was employed as the Controller with Cambridge Lee Industries, LLC., Ontelaunee Township since 1986.
He was a member of Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, Hyde Park, where he previously served on church council and the finance committee.
Bob trained at Heilman Karate Academy from 2002-2011. He earned his 1st degree black belt in Okinawa Kenpo Karate Kobudo in June 2009.
He was a member of The Knights of Columbus Reading Council #793 from 1985-2005, where he previously served as the financial secretary. He became a 4th degree Knight in the Piux IX Assembly in 1987.
Bob was actively involved in organizations and activities at Muhlenberg High School that his daughters were involved in.
An avid runner and an member of Body Works, Temple, he trained most mornings.
Also surviving are his three daughters: Jessica A. Focht at home and her long-term boyfriend, Michael J. Aquiline of Muhlenberg Township; Stephanie L., wife of Ryan L. Daniels of North Pole, AK and Rebecca M. Focht at home.
Other survivors include his sister, Joanne M., wife of Philip J. Fromuth of Reading and his three brothers, Stephen P., companion of Mary Haller of Reading; Stanley J., husband of Karen L. Focht of South Heidelberg Township and Timothy J., husband of Gina M. Focht of Muhlenberg Township.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Hyde Park. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. As this will be a celebration of Bob's life, the family requests that those who attend refrain from wearing black.
