Robert E. "Sim" Stufflet, 92, died August 16th at 9:43 am in his residence at 409 Main Street, (Maidencreek Township) Blandon, Pa 19510.
He was the husband of Helen C. (Strause) Stufflet.
Born in Walnuttown, he was a son of the late Edwin K. and Amelia E. (Kemmerer) Stufflet.
He was a past Maidencreek Township Supervisor for 12 years.
Stufflet last worked for 14 years as a tip staffer for Judge Eshelman's office in the Berks County Court House until his retirement.
He had previously co-owned Blandon Restaurant with his wife from 1946 until 1959.
Stufflet was also previously employed by Olmsted Airforce Base as a warehouse man from 1948-1967 and as a preboarder for 12 years at the former Rosedale Knitting Mills.
Stufflet was a life member at both the Goodwill and Blandon Fire Companies.
He was a member of Trinity Bible Fellowship Church, Blandon.
Stufflet was a Army Veteran of WWII.
He is also survived by two sons, Brendle J. husband of Raydell M. (Rothenberger) of Lenhartsville and Brian B. of Reading.
Other survivors include a sister, Lydia (Stufflet) widow of Calvin Angstadt of Blandon.
There are three grandsons and one great grandson.
He was predeceased by a son, Robert E. Stufflet Jr., who died July 4, 1996.
Services will be Thursday 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Rev. William T. Wiley officiating. Viewings Wednesday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm and Thursday 9:30 - 10:00 am, both in the funeral home. Burial will be in Maidencreek Cemetery, Blandon.
