Robert Milton Dreibelbis

Robert Milton Dreibelbis, Sr., 77, of Spring Township, passed away July 16, 2014 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was the husband of Barbara Ann (Gross) Dreibelbis, whom he married almost 56 years ago on August 9, 1958.

Born March 16, 1937 in Reading he was a son of the late Milton George and Mary Katherine (Kerper) Dreibelbis.

He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and La Salle University, Philadelphia.

Robert was a manager for Met-Ed for over 20 years.

He was an active member of Holy Guardian Angles R.C. Church, Hyde Park.

Robert enjoyed basketball and coached and played for CYO. He also enjoyed politics and getting involved in his community. He sat on the Muhlenberg school board for years and was a member of the Muhlenberg Lions Club. He also liked photography, taking home movies, and trips to the beach. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his two children: Robert Milton Dreibelbis, Jr., Shillington; and Barbara Marie, wife of Gary Allen Thompson, Myrtle Beach, SC. Also surviving are his two grandchildren: Michele Zdunowski, and Kevin Thompson; and he was looking forward to meeting his great-granddaughter, Raelynne Grace, who is expected very soon.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Kuhn Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
