Robert E. Angstadt, 80 of Lenhartsville died November 26th in his home. He was the husband of Ruth M. (Miller) Angstadt. They celebrated 56 years of marriage on October 16, 2010. Robert was born in Roxbourough, Pa. and was the son of the late William N. and Elizabeth (Westwood) Angstadt. Robert worked for many years as a carpenter for Charles Arndt Construction and Central Lumber Company. He last worked for the Kutztown Area School District as a custodian for 15 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of New Jerusalem (Zion) UCC, Krumsville. Robert proudly served his country as an army veteran during the Korean Conflict from 1949 to 1952. He was the recipient of 5 bronze stars. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 1 son, Rodney R. husband of Kris (Barlow) Angstadt, Shoemakersville, 2 daughters, Rose A. widow of Robert E. Williams, Fleetwood and Rita M. wife of Darrell G. Bohn, West Hamburg, grandchildren Jeremiah J. Angstadt, Shoemakersville, Bradley R. Williams, Fleetwood, Amber L. Williams and her fiancé Joseph M. Columbo, Laureldale, Chad D. Bohn, and Jenna M. Bohn both of West Hamburg, and a great grandson Jacob A. Angstadt, 1 brother, Walter Angstadt, Roxbourough, 2 sisters, Elizabeth Weigle, Lenhartsville and Catherine Gioquinto, Port Royal, SC. He was predeceased by a son, Roger Lee Angstadt in 1955 and by 3 brothers and 1 sister. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., 40 S.4th St., Hamburg. The Rev. Elna L. Stratton, M. Div. and Rev. Sterling A. Schnell, M. Div. will officiate. A viewing will be held from 9:30 AM till time of service. Burial will be in Dunkel's Cemetery, Greenwich Township with full military honors accorded by Ray Master Post #217, Topton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berks Visiting Nurse Association, 1170 Berkshire Blvd, Wyomissing, Pa. 19610. Online condolences may be made to www.burkeydriscoll.com.
