Robert Andrus

Robert Andrus, 88, formerly of Reading and Johnstown, Cambria County, died March 18, 2008 at 6:55 pm in Spruce Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, West Reading, where he had been a resident since November 19, 2007.

Born in Johnstown, PA on August 30, 1919, he was a son of the late Stephen and Mary (Dluhos) Andrus.

He worked his whole life with his brother, at Ohio Street Service Station, Johnstown, retiring as the assistant manager in 1988.

Robert was an Army Veteran of WWII.

He was a former member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Johnstown.

Robert is survived by three nieces, Janice M. (Jacoby) wife of George R. Repko of Wyomissing; Dorothy E. (Jacoby) widow of William E. McDermott and Dolores (Andrus) widow of James Hammer, both of Silver Spring, Maryland and two nephews; David P. husband of Kathy (Kinsey) Jacoby of New Florence, Indiana County and James Andrus of Mount Dora, Florida.

He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading. A visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the time of Mass in the Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, the family request that a prayer be said for Robert. Edward J.
