Robert Raymond Alspach, Jr., 73 of Fogelsville, died July 18th at 4:45 pm in the VNA Hospice at St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem.
Alspach was formerly of Reading.
He was the husband of Dr. Patricia Mary Enzman.
Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Robert R. Sr., and Florence (Schaeffer) Alspach.
He was a graduate of Reading High School.
Alspach was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.
He was the owner and auto mechanic at Alspach Auto Service, Cumru Township for 33 years, before retiring in 2001.
Alspach was actively involved in motor sports, including the Pennsylvania Hill Climb Association where he is a record holder in many divisions.
He holds time records for the Reading Duryea Hill Climb where he placed first numerous times.
Alspach is also survived by a son, Paul R. at home and two daughters, Susan L. Alspach of Auburn, Schuylkill County and Deborah K. (Alspach) Pellicotti of Reading.
Other survivors include a brother, David Alspach of Reading and two brother-in-laws; Barry Enzman of Sykesville, Maryland and Brian Enzman of Fort Myers, Florida.
There are also three grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Michael Alspach, who died in 1959.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Sinking Spring Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 1131, Fairfax, VA 22038-1131 or to the Hospice Organization of your choice. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
