Rita Merkel

Rita (Born) Merkel, 93, formerly of Laureldale, died August 19, 2009 in Manor Care, Sinking Spring.

Her husband, Stuart A. Merkel died in 1987.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Augustus A. and Anna B. (Brendel) Born.

She was a graduate of Reading High School.

Rita was an avid golf and tennis player.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Rita was predeceased by five brothers, George J. Born, Edwin A. Born, Bernard W. Born, A. Brendel Born and John W. Born and two sisters, Alberta (Born) Miller and Anna (Born) Baldo.
