Rita D. Kloepfer

Rita D. Kloepfer, 84, of Wyomissing, died Sunday, October 1, 2017, at Columbia Cottage.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard A. Kloepfer, August 2, 2009.

Born in Philadelphia, Rita was the daughter of the late John Rooney and Alta (Van Osten) Rooney.

Rita was employed by the Wilson School District, and later Sears & Roebuck until her retirement. She was a long-time volunteer at the Reading Hospital.

Rita is survived by her daughter, Theresa M., wife of Calvin Long, West Reading, and her son, Carl R., Wyomissing. Other survivors include her sister, Patsy widow of Edmund Heller, N. Wales; brother, Edward, husband of Naomi Rooney, Manor; and four grandchildren: Katie Kloepfer Mazzaferro spouse of Jill, Allison spouse of Mudge Welch, Jeffrey Long, and Kyle Kloepfer; two great-grandchildren: Jacob and Jackson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her four siblings: Marie Rooney, James Rooney, Jack Rooney and Dorothy Joyce.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
