Rise A. Long, 67, died June 17, 2012, in her Wernersville residence.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of Mary (Earhart) Aspinall, Reading and the late Ralph E. Shugart. Rise was adopted in December of 1946 by the late Otto J. and Blanche A. (Weidman) Wagner.

She was a graduate of Wilson High School in 1963 and earned her Associate's Degree from West Virginia Wesleyan in 1965.

Rise was a potter operating Rise's Redware from her home. Previously she worked at Woody's Sporting Goods, Wernersville for 20 years for Barry Gensemer.

She was a member of St. John's Reformed Church, Sinking Spring and a lifetime member of Heidelberg Heritage Society.

Rise is survived by her surviving son Michael J., husband of Kelly Minnich, Wernersville. There are three siblings, Richard A. Wagner, Reading, George Earhart, Reading and Dorothy (Earhart) Texter, Vinemont. Four grandchildren, Koby, Chance, Clayton and Mayson Minnich; and her companion Thomas Shade also survive her.

She was predeceased by her son Christopher J. Minnich who died March 30, 1997 at the age of 29.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. John's Reformed Church, 4001 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Burial will be in Sinking Spring Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10:30 to 11 a.m.; both viewings will be at the church.
