Richard N. Zaorski Jr.

Richard N. Zaorski Jr., 56, of Shillington, passed away August 3, 2017 in the Reading Hospital.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Richard N. Sr., and Monica V. (Lascoskie) Zaorski.

Richard was a 1979 graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School and received his Auto-Mechanic Certification from Reading-Muhlenberg Vo-tech.

He was employed by A.W. Golden for over 33 years and then worked as a service manager for over 5 years at Penske GMC. Richard worked at the Kenhorst Fire Company.

In his earlier years, he served as a volunteer firefighter and Assistant Captain of the Liberty Fire Company. Richard was a member of Gouglersville Fire Company, the Goodwill Fire Company and the Shillington Social Quarters.

Richard was a member of St. John Baptist De la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.

He enjoyed trips to the beach, polka dancing, watching his nephews play hockey, and watching his favorite sports teams, the Flyers, Phillies, Eagles and Penn State. He also enjoyed dirt track racing.

In addition to his mother, Richard is survived by his two siblings Suzanne M., wife of Anand Mahajan, Lancaster; and Joseph A., husband of Jodi Zaorski; Reading. He is also survived by his six nieces and nephews: Asha, Kyle, Anjali, Alex, Andrew, and Adam; his girlfriend, Shelly Trupp; and his canine companion Chance, whom he loved dearly. Richard will truly be missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

He was predeceased by his sister, Debra L. Zaorski.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at 10 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading . A viewing will be held Monday, August 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
