Richard A. Yoder, 60, was pronounced dead of natural causes, September 9, 2007 in his Reading residence.

He was born May 7, 1947 in Reading, PA. He was a son of Kathryn C. (Harter) Yoder, a resident at the Sacred Heart Villa, Muhlenberg Township and the late Albert H. Yoder, who died January 15, 1954.

Richard was a 1965 graduate of Central Catholic High School and graduated with an associates degree in mechanical engineering from Penn State University, Berks Campus.

He was a member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

Richard was employed as an independent mechanical designer and technical draftsman, last working Friday with Davis Design, Womelsdorf.

He was a member of the Flying Dutchman Ski Club and was the former Lodge Director. He also was a founder of the Annual Sharer's Picnic.

Richard was an avid skier and also enjoyed sailing, boating and parties with his family and friends.

He is also survived by two siblings, Albert L. husband of Brenda J. (Rutolo) Yoder and Nancy M. (Yoder) wife of Donald E. Potteiger, all of Reading.

Other survivors include three nephews, Kevin M. Yoder, Jeffrey A. Yoder and Jared A. Potteiger and five nieces, Patricia Courtois, Kathy Matasevac, Maureen Danks, Denise McAndrew and Beth Junikiewicz.

There are also 13 great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by sister, Carol A. Connolly, who died June 13, 1975.

Richard will be sadly missed by his family, his cousin and lifetime friend, Jack Lorish and the many friends he made through all walks of his life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 am in St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, 925 Centre Avenue, Reading, PA 19601, with Fr. John Gibbons celebrating. A viewing will be held Tuesday from 6:30 - 8:30 pm in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum.
