Richard A. Weidner

Richard A. Weidner, 74, of Muhlenberg Township, died May 12, 2010 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township.

He was the husband of Edna Florence (Hinnershitz) Weidner, whom he married May 30, 1959.

Born November 2, 1935, in Reading, he was a son of the late John Joseph and Emily Estella (Miller) Weidner.

Richard was a 1953 graduate of Ontelaunee High School.

He was employed as a truck driver with Dietrich's Dairy, Muhlenberg Township for 40 years, retiring in 1999.

Richard was also a member of Goodwill Fire Company Beneficial Association.

Surviving are two sons, Ricky A., husband of Janet A. (Strause) Weidner of Maidencreek Township and Mark S., husband of Cherie A. (Garl) Weidner of Muhlenberg Township.

Other survivors include four grandchildren: Nathaniel, Joshua, Heather and Elizabeth.

Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6:30-8 p.m. and Monday from 12:30-1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
