Richard K. Shiffer

Richard Kenneth Shiffer, Sr., 76, of The Highlands at Wyomissing, died November 26, 2006 at 11:20 am in the Reading Hospital where he had been a patient since November 20th.

He was the husband of Marie (Legat) Shiffer, who died April 2, 2006.

Born in Hellertown, PA on April 3, 1930, he was a son of the late LeRoy Elmer and Bessie Clara (Keck) Shiffer.

He was a 1947 graduate of Hellertown High School and a 1951 graduate of Millersville College.

Richard was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.

He was a life insurance agent for Equitable Life Assurance Society, where he was a member of the Million Dollar Roundtable and a member of the Charted Life Underwriters.

Richard is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Ann Shiffer of Mill Valley, CA and a son Richard K. Jr., husband of Moira J. (Poper) Shiffer of Cherry Hill, NJ.

He is also survived by a sister, Betty (Shiffer) widow of Miroslaw Pasternak of Hellertown.
