Richard E. Shade

Richard E. Shade, 85, of Wyomissing and formerly of Lincoln Park, died July 7, 2007 at 11:30 p.m. in Reading Hospital, where he had been since July 5.

He was the husband of Rose M. (Intelisano) Shade.

Born in West Leesport, he was the son of the late John A. and Gertrude B. (Smith) Shade.

He was a welder for Dana Corp. for 30 years retiring in 1979.

Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving in Guada Canal during World War II.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

Richard is survived by his two daughters, Donna M. (Shade) McCarty, Wernersville and Virginia L. (Shade) Kostick, Spring Twp. Five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive him.

Family and friends are invited To Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading Thurday at 8:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Kuhn Funeral Home.
