Richard A. Selig

Richard A. Selig, 94, of Sinking Spring, passed away April 25, 2017, in the Reading Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Marcus A. and Margaret (Heffleger) Selig.

His first wife, Madaline L. (Homan) Selig, passed away in 1969 and his second wife, Lois V. (Stephens) Selig passed away in 2012.

Richard was a 1940 graduate of Reading High School.

He was employed by Glidden Paint as a color matcher for 44 years retiring in 1985.

Richard loved to garden and was always outdoors. He was an avid golfer and loved to bowl. Richard was a life member at Northend Rod and Gun Association, and a member of the Temple Fire Company, Goodwill Fire Company, and the Green Valley Country Club.

He is survived by two children: James G., husband of Patricia M. Selig, Temple; and Louise S., wife of Steven O. Reese, Bethel Park; two step-children: Janet A. Krick, Temple; and Stephen P. husband of Melissa Yeager, Hummelstown; one sister-in-law, Kathryn Selig, Temple; four grandchildren: Michelle C., wife of Jack Stevens; Laurie A., wife of Michael Runkel; Dylan G. Reese, and Maxwell S. Reese; three step-grandchildren: Jodi George, Jessica Campbell, and Griffen Yeager; three great grandchildren: Noelle A, wife of Boyd Wiley; Michael D. Runkel, and Lindsay N. Runkel; three step-great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren: Phoenix D. Stevens and Gabriella R. Whitney.

Richard was predeceased by his son, Richard A. Selig Jr., and two siblings, Kenneth A. Selig and Betty Jane Smith.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017, at 1 p.m. in the Kuhn Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 5153 Kutztown Road, Temple, PA 19560. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. A visitation will be held Saturday from 12-1 p.m. in the funeral home.
