Richard W. Reddy, retired engraving department supervisor at Reading Eagle Company, died Nov. 12 at 10:45 p.m. in Phoebe Berks Health Care Center, Wernersville.
Reddy, 81, a resident at Phoebe Berks Village, Wernersville, for the past year, formerly of Montieth Avenue, Midvale Manor, was employed by Reading Eagle Company from Jan. 29, 1940, until his retirement Oct. 26, 1990.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late William and Margaret (Elbert) Reddy.
Reddy was a 1939 graduate of Reading High School and a 1955 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business.
An Army veteran of World War II, he received the Purple Heart.
Reddy was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.
Surviving are three sons: Dr. Richard, Mohrsville; Joseph M., Bern Township; and Michael J., Whitfield.
Other survivors include three daughters: Dr. Patricia A. Reddy, Harrisburg; Joan A. (Reddy) Antosy, Exeter Township; and Theresa A. (Reddy) Chelius, Spring Township.
Also surviving are two brothers, William, Tucson, Ariz., and Robert, Putnam, Conn.
There are also 11 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
