Richard A. Moore, 84, died at his residence in the Highlands at Wyomissing.
He is survived by his wife, Doris.
Born in the Village of Eagle, he was the son of the late Mark C. and Grace E. (Yocum) Moore
.
Richard was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict working for SHAPE, (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe).
An an entrepreneur, he founded Moore's Furniture store, built many barns in Chester County, owned a lumber yard and several other businesses.
His hobbies included fox hunting and driving horses. Cartography was also a hobby.
Richard's passion in life was art and photography. He was a talented artist who loved to paint and photograph wonderful scenes.
He and his wife traveled to many places including: Botswana, Galapagos, Europe and Brazil.
He also wrote a book titled, "The Way it Was", describing life in the villages of Eagle and Byers Station in the 1940's.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Gary Moore of Chester County; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren; one step-daughter, Deborah John and three step-grandchildren.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, 208 S. La Salle Street, Suite 1500, Chicago, IL 60604.
