Richard E. Mohler

Richard E. Mohler, 90, of Sinking Spring, passed away on September 4, 2026, at Sinking Spring Nursing and Rehab.

Born in Fritztown, PA, he was the son of the late Eli G. and Ruth M. (Long) Mohler. Richard was a 1954 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School. Following his service in the United States Air Force, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a Master of Education degree from East Stroudsburg University. He devoted 28 years to education with the Wilson School District before retiring in 1996.

Richard was active in numerous organizations throughout his life, particularly those connected to education and his military service. He served as president of the Pennsylvania Association for Safety Education and was a Life Member of the American Legion, Samson Air Force Base in Geneva, NY, and the Society of Strategic Air Command of Nebraska. He was also a member of the 148th Fighter Squadron Association of Reading and the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum.

Richard was a longtime member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Shillington. He enjoyed the fellowship of his church, his many military and professional associations, and the friendships he formed throughout his life.

He was the loving husband of the late Suzanne (Schaffstall) Mohler, who passed away in 2020. Richard is survived by his son, Mark Mohler, husband of Rachel, of Sinking Spring. He was predeceased by his sisters, Shirley M. Wilkins and Doris Jasinski.
