Richard Michael Vogrin

Richard Michael "Zeek" Vogrin, 61, of Reading, died unexpectedly on December 7, 2023.

Born in New York, he was raised in Yardley, Bucks County. He was the son of the late Christian Michael and Anne Marie (Cotter) Vogrin.

He was a 1980 graduate of Pennsbury High School.

Zeek embarked on his professional journey as an independent plumber before venturing into expanding his expertise by obtaining a CDL License and becoming a skilled equipment operator.

As a devout Catholic, family and faith were very important to Zeek. He was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield, where he volunteered for the Religious Education Program, and participated in Men's Retreats and Bible Study.

Zeek enjoyed being a Watch Dog Dad for his children at the Wilson School District. He found pleasure in fishing, frequenting the beach, swimming in the ocean, kayaking on the bay and cycling with his children in Wildwood Crest, NJ. As a casual free-spirit, he was always dressed in shorts, flip flops, and sunglasses, regardless of the season. He relished cooking delicious meals for his family and friends on the BBQ, often indulging in satisfying feasts of steak and crab legs.

He is survived by his two children, Molly Anne Vogrin and Max Michael Vogrin, whom he loved dearly and adored; former wife, friend and co-parent, Jana Vogrin, Sinking Spring; and sister, Victoria Anne Sassi (Alex) Haubeck of Dublin, PA.

He was predeceased by his brother, Peter Vogrin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, 2600 St. Albans Dr, Reading, PA 19609. Burial will be private.
