Richard "Rip" Lis, 69, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, at his home in Wyomissing on Tuesday, April the 9th.
He is survived by his wife, Ann L. (Cosgrave), with whom he would have spent 50 years of marriage with this coming June 1st.
He was the son of the late Francis "Foxy" Lis and Mary (Urbanik) Lis of Reading.
He also survived by his sister, Carole, wife of Dr. William Harrer, Haddonfield and his brother, Robert, husband of Ginger (Biagianti), Shillington.
He is also survived by his son, Richard M. Lis, husband of Joelle (Guiles), Wyomissing and daughter, Lori Bosshard, wife of Glenn, Sinking Spring and two granddaughters: Anna and Macy Bosshard, Sinking Spring.
Rip was a graduate of St. Mary's School and Central Catholic High School, Class of 1961. He was previously employed by Carpenter Technology, Reading, for 21 years. He currently was employed by John Hall and Associated, Leesport, for the past 20 years to whom the family would like to thank for all of their support and kindness. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 429 and his favorite group the Nifty Fifty Fishing Club. He was also a member of St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Reading.
Rip enjoyed and loved life to the fullest, especially fishing, golfing, dancing and listening to the oldies, the casinos and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was extremely grateful to his family and friends, especially Dr. Amy Guiles Lachina and her family for all their support and assistance the past few years, especially recently.
A viewing will be held Friday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Mass and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church Renovation Fund, 326 South 5th Street, Reading, PA 19602.
