Richard Michael Koharcheck

Richard Michael Koharcheck, 78, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at the Reading Hospital. Born in Reading, PA, he was a son of the late Michael J. Koharcheck and Kathryn (Spolski) Koharcheck. Richard worked extremely hard his entire life. He was employed as a welder at Dana Corporation for 36 years before retiring at the age of 56.

A proud member of the Reading Pigeon Club, Richard enjoyed racing pigeons. He adored his dogs and hated being apart from his beloved companions.

Richard is survived by his children: Michael D. Koharcheck of Shoemakersville; Richard K. Koharcheck (Shelley) of Fleetwood; Timothy L. Koharcheck (Jill) of Muhlenberg Township; and Michele A. Koharcheck of Shoemakersville; grandchildren Marisa Ramich, Zoey Koharcheck, Zamisha Koharcheck, Michael H. Koharcheck, Jordan D. Koharcheck, Tyler Bair, Michael Reneker, Brittney M. Koharcheck, Brandon M. Koharcheck, Natasha L. Bleiler, Cassandra A. Pliess, and Joshua A. Rosario; and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, George Spolski and Eugene Koharcheck, and sister, Elaine Koharcheck.

Richard was preceded by his former spouse and the mother of his children, Susan (Lash).

The prayer service will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Ave. West Reading, PA 19611, with committal at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery, 1814 Philadelphia Ave., Reading, PA 19607.
