Richard A. Kloepfer

Richard A. Kloepfer, 76, of Wyomissing, passed away August 2, 2009 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

He was the husband of 54 years to Rita D. (Rooney) Kloepfer.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Richard and Wilhemina (Eber) Kloepfer.

Richard was a 1950 graduate of Wilson High School.

He was employed for 30 years by Dana Corporation in the heating and air conditioning department, retiring in 1993; and ten years for Joe Dorn as a Driver's education teacher.

Richard was a member of the Berkshire Heights Fire Company and the Berks County Fireman's Association.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Kloepfer also supported various veteran associations.

Richard loved his family. He was especially devoted to his grandchildren who meant the world to him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Carl R., husband of Dorinda K. Kloepfer, Robesonia and a daughter, Terri, M., wife of Calvin C. Long, West Reading; four grandchildren: Katie M. Kloepfer, Rochester, NY, Allison R. Long; Jeffrey J. Long, both of West Reading and Kyle R. Kloepfer, Robesonia, also survive him.

Services will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
