Richard F. Jameson, 84, died January 15, 2009 in his Cumru Twp. residence.
He was the loving husband of Ruth E. (Murphy) Jameson for 59 years.
Born in Newton, MA, he was a son of the late Robert and Josephine (Murray) Jameson.
He was a World War II veteran of the US Navy, serving on the USS Jordan and saw action in the North Atlantic and Africa.
Richard attended the College of the Holy Cross and St. John's University.
He retired in 1980 after a distinguished 35 year career in the automobile industry, including holding both car dealer and National Metropolitan Marketing Manager positions, for Buick, as well as executive positions with Volkswagen of America and Toyota USA.
Richard was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle, Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.
Mr. Jameson loved watching and supporting all his family members' athletic careers.
He is survived by six children, Lawrence R., husband of Jeannie Y. Jameson, Mechanicsburg; Richard F., Jr., husband of Linda R. Jameson, Harrisburg; Kathleen M., wife of John C. Moult, West Lawn; Peter T., husband of Barbara A. Jameson, Ligonier; Paul D., husband of Tami S. Jameson, Pittsburgh and Sally A., wife of Andrew M. Davis, Fanwood, NJ. There are 19 grandchildren, Dan and Tom Jameson; Michael, Mary and Katie Jameson; J.J., Andy, Greg, Liz and Sarah Moult; Patrick and Ellen Jameson; Allyson, Sean, Alex and Dima Jameson; and Matthew, Audrey and Bridget Davis; and four great-grandchildren, Erin and Ryan Jameson; and Riley and Seamus Mahon. Many nieces and nephews also survive him.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Paul Jameson and two sisters, Dorothea Hurvich and Marie Cooper.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. John's Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Shillington. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Edward J.
