Richard I. Swoyer

Richard Irving Swoyer, 83, of 3532 Hawthorne Street, Laureldale, Pa 19605, died February 14th at 2:48 a.m. in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center where he had been since February 11th.

He was the husband of Doris S. (Good) Swoyer.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Paul and Florence (Young) Swoyer.

He was a Army Veteran of WWII.

Swoyer worked in the foundry for 23 years at Reading Metals, Ontelaunee Township before retiring in 1983.

He previously worked for 20 years as an assembler at the former Liberknect's, Laureldale.

Swoyer is also survived by a daughter, Debra A. (Swoyer) wife of Douglas Filer of Grants Pass, Oregon and a son, Douglas R. husband of Adrianne (Dougherty) Swoyer of Spring Township.

Other survivors include two grandchildren, Douglas and Gregory Filer.

Memorial Services will be Tuesday at 4:00 pm in Unity Church of Reading, 4443 10th Avenue, Temple, Pa 19526. No public viewing. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
