Richard Allen Hurley, Sr.

Richard Allen Hurley, Sr., 88, of Laureldale, died June 27, 2014 in Berkshire Center, Exeter Township.

He was the husband of Grace Emiline (Bealer) Hurley, whom he married February 23, 1946.

Born January 23, 1926 in Newville, Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Ira Washington and Esther Mae (Getter) Hurley.

Richard was employed as a tractor trailer driver with Chemical Leman Tank Lines for 35 years, retiring in 1970.

He was a member of the Moose Club and enjoyed traveling and camping.

Also surviving are his three children: Richard A., Jr., husband of Carol Hurley of Potter County; LeRoy M., husband of Jane Hurley of Leesport and Regina L., wife of Gary E. Rothenberger of Laureldale.

Other survivors include his sister, Lucy Blair of Alabama; seven grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by four great grandchildren, Amber Rothenberger, Madison Rothenberger, Mason Rothenberger and Devon Hill and three sisters, Virginia, Blanche and Jean.

Services will be Monday at 12 noon in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery.
